Draft. The operating legal entity, its affiliates, the sharing answers in the table below, and the telephone number must be confirmed by the business and reviewed by counsel before this notice is delivered. A notice that misstates whether information is shared is itself a violation.

This notice is given under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which applies to us because an insurance producer is a financial institution under that law. It is delivered when you first become a customer and annually afterwards where required. It sits alongside our general Privacy Notice, and it governs where the two differ about information collected in connection with an insurance transaction.

To limit our sharing

Because we do not share your personal information in any of the ways that federal law lets you limit, no opt-out is required and none is offered. If that changes, we will send you a revised notice and a way to opt out before the new sharing begins.

What we do

How do we protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorised access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These include computer safeguards, secured files and buildings, access restricted to people who need the information to do their work, encryption of information in transit and at rest, and separate protected storage for the most sensitive items such as a Social Security number. No set of measures eliminates every risk, and we do not claim a certification or audit result.

Definitions

Affiliates. Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. Any affiliates we share with are identified in our Privacy Notice.

Nonaffiliates. Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies. We do not share your personal information with nonaffiliates so they can market to you. Sharing with a nonaffiliate to carry out our everyday business (for example an insurer considering your application, a payment processor, or a licensing source) is not marketing.

Joint marketing. A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you. We do not jointly market.

Where a state's insurance privacy law gives you greater protection than this notice, that law applies. See State insurance rights, including the provisions for Nevada, Vermont, and California residents and the states that have adopted the NAIC insurance information and privacy protection act.
